The Scenario
Our client is a Portuguese national who’s living in Dubai working for a multinational bank. She has long associations with the UK: the first home she bought in London is now rented out, and she was looking to buy a second one-bed flat as an investment, not far from the financial district of Canary Wharf.
It was a repossessed property, so speed was her top priority: the selling agent was dubious that a Portugese national UK buy to let mortgage could be arranged in time.
