Jonathan Moffatt is Head of Corporate Finance at Clifton Private Finance and an experienced commercial finance and debt advisory specialist. He has nearly 20 years of experience helping businesses, investors, and management teams assess, structure, and secure funding for a wide range of commercial transactions.

Jonathan began his finance career with Lloyds Banking Group, where he spent 11 years in senior commercial underwriting roles. During this time, he developed extensive experience in credit risk, financial analysis, transaction structuring, and lending policy, assessing and sanctioning commercial funding facilities across a range of sectors.

His lender-side background gives him a first-hand understanding of how funders assess opportunities, identify risks, and make credit decisions. He uses this experience to anticipate potential challenges, present transactions effectively, and structure funding proposals that meet both the client’s objectives and the lender’s requirements.

Over the last nine years, Jonathan has applied this underwriting expertise within commercial finance broking and debt advisory. He works with business owners, property investors, corporate management teams, and professional advisers on funding requirements ranging from property and asset finance to working capital facilities, acquisitions, and business restructuring.
